When an artist conquers their respective industry, it’s only natural to start ushering in its future leaders—a principle Hardwell is embracing amid his dominant REBELS NEVER DIE era.
After his soul-stirring return from hiatus in 2022, the Dutch electronic music icon seems to be operating with a renewed sense of purpose. Case in point was REBELS NEVER DIE, an album that pulled the curtain to reveal a darker sound with lyricism and sampling which explored cerebral concepts, like escapism and the addictive tendencies of technology.
The album was devoid of collaborations, but Hardwell’s commitment to supporting the next generation of dance music producers now seems to be stronger than ever after the release of “Balança,” a rollicking new single with Brazilian star VINNE. As for the track itself—it’s nothing short of breathtaking. “Balança” beautifully bridges the gap between Hardwell’s electro roots and today’s red-hot house music scene, which has been deeply influenced by VINNE and his Brazilian counterparts.
The best part? “Balança” is the first of six new tracks from Hardwell. He’ll be releasing them on a weekly basis, culminating in a brand new EP expected to drop in the spring.
He recently launched a cryptic microsite containing six doors, each of which will open to reveal a new single leading up to the full EP. These include hotly anticipated collaborations with Will Sparks (“Twisted”) and Sub Zero Project (“Judgement Day”), among others.
