Masked Artist MELON Drops Huge Debut Album
Spanning a staggering 51 tracks, “This Is MELON, Vol. 1” is as uplifting as it is diverse.
Following a string of colossal streaming hits, masked music producer MELON has released his full-length debut album.
Over the past few years, the Fruits Music-signed artist has captured the attention of an international audience with his ability to produce memorable covers and remixes, as well as originals. His “Blue (Da Ba Dee)” cover has amassed 50 million streams across digital platforms, while his “Belly Dancer” remix (alongside Italian duo DMNDS) for slap house hitmaker Imanbek saw him land on Tiësto’s Musical Freedom imprint.
Preceded by “Hello Hello” in collaboration with Romanian superstar INNA, MELON’s debut album, This Is MELON, Vol. 1, serves as the project’s official introduction and puts the sugary-sweet producer on the map as one to watch in the world of electronic dance music.
Spanning a jaw-dropping 51 tracks in length, the Dutch artist’s debut is explorative and diverse. MELON explores many different electronic sub-genres, among them melodic house, tech house, future rave, drum & bass, breakbeat and U.K. garage. All said and done, This Is MELON, Vol. 1 is an all-encompassing dance music experience with something for everyone.
“I feel the fans should decide what they really want to listen to,” MELON said in a statement. “With this project, they have plenty of songs and dance sounds to choose their favorites from.”
Numerous artists from the Dance Fruits collective were recruited to contribute to This Is MELON, Vol. 1, which includes a carefully-curated combination of old classics and newer hits, all covered into fresh versions fit for 2023. The album also includes a groovy original, “Leave This Town,” which serves as a teaser for another, all-original album later this year.
