Gaming data company GRID Esports and publisher Riot Games have launched the VALORANT Data Portal (VDP), a new home for the title’s in-game data.
The VALORANT Data Portal will be available to all 30 VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) partner teams. Claimed to be a first-of-its-kind platform for the FPS scene, the VDP enables teams to obtain data from VCT matches and private scrims.
Teams can filter data to use in match analysis and talent evaluation when deciding on appointing new players to their respective rosters. The system is said to be fully automated, with private data being accessed through a secure API or application-based user interface.
The creation of the VDP is part of Riot Games’ commitment to grow the competitive VALORANT scene throughout 2023, the company said in a release. Alongside undergoing a myriad of structural changes, VALORANT esports has shown intentions to expand into China following the addition of two Chinese organisations to its ongoing LOCK//IN tournament in Brazil.

John Knauss, Lead of Competitive Data Programs for Esports at Riot Games, spoke on the launch: “We are excited to be working with GRID on crafting the future of esports data for the VALORANT Champions Tour. GRID as a partner is highly aligned with our goals around data accessibility and Riot’s core values.
“The VALORANT Data Portal is the first step in our shared vision for how we make official VALORANT data more broadly available, starting with our professional teams.”
